INTRODUCTION: The purpose of this study was to verify the training effect and investigate biomechanics factors of Vinyasa yoga after eight weeks training.
METHOD: Thirteen college women who have never done yoga participated in this study. In order to collect data, two AMTI force platform, Delsys EMG and 10 Vicon cameras were used and these devices were synchronized. Paired t-test was used to analyze statistical analysis.
RESULT: After yoga training, most of joint angles were larger, but muscle activities of only rectus abdominis and triceps brachii at bending knee event were smaller. Coefficient of variation of vertical reaction force was smaller.
CONCLUSION: These findings suggested that after training, large motions and consistent vertical reaction force were performed and the jumping vertex was done with small muscle activities. In conclusion, learning of Uddiyana Bandha through practicing Vinyasa Yoga was effective.
